On Saturday, May 31, join us for “Pickin’ and Grinnin’ in the Barn”, an evening of delicious food, lively entertainment, and community spirit — all in support of the Deep Creek Watershed. The festivities kick off at 5:30 PM with cocktails and appetizers, followed by a fine dining experience catered by none other than Maryland’s 2023 Restaurateur of the Year. The night’s entertainment features The High and Wides, a celebrated string band hailed by The Washington Post as “the apostles of hillbilly boogie.” Baltimore Magazine adds, “From fiery barn burners to heartbroken ballads, this talented string quartet is celebrating the region’s rich bluegrass history, carrying the torch for the Old-Line legends who came before.” You won’t want to miss their energy and artistry!

Join us as we celebrate Deep Creek Lake’s centennial with a weekend of great food, music, golf, and giving back! The festivities kick off on Monday, July 7 at 5:30 PM with the Par Tee Kickoff at the beautiful Red Barn Inn in Swanton. Enjoy a festive Seafood Boil provided by Ace’s Run, featuring freshly grilled seafood buckets served with potatoes and corn — all prepared onsite! Dance and dine to the sounds of the Sugarfoot Stompers, known for their lively New Orleans-style jazz, and don’t miss the auction featuring fantastic items and experiences. July 8th: Save the Date: 100th Anniversary Golf Tournament at Thousand Acres
Thousand Acres Lakeside Golf Club 500 Lakeside Clb Dr., Swanton, MDThe Deep Creek Lake Centennial Committee is partnering with Thousand Acres to sponsor this fun charity golf tournament. Net proceeds will be donated to the Deep Creek Watershed Foundation for the many projects and programs to enrich and protect the Deep Creek Watershed area.
On Tuesday, July 8, grab your clubs for the Deep Creek Lake 100th Par Tee Golf Classic at the stunning Thousand Acres Golf Club.

• Tee-off is at 9:00 AM with a fun scramble format — perfect for golfers of all levels.

Save the Date for our Upcoming Scientific Symposium
Garrett College, McHenry, MDThe Deep Creek Watershed Foundation will have a Scientific Symposium on Important challenges at Deep Creek Lake. The Symposium will take place for most of the day at Garrett College. Guest speakers will address Progress on the Watershed Management Plan, Water Quality Monitoring, Sub-aquatic Vegetation, Development and Potential Use of A Water Budget Model, Sediment Mitigation and other topics. Funding for the Symposium came from Theodore Giovanis. More to come on the event and agenda as we get closer to the event.
